Comparative Survey: Current BJP Government vs Previous Congress Government (Rajasthan)

PRAS India conducted a representative comparative survey across all 200 assembly constituencies in Rajasthan. Sample: 10,000 respondents (50 per constituency). Below are the question-wise perceptions comparing the current BJP government with the previous Congress government.

Interpretation (brief)

The survey indicates that the current BJP government is perceived to have improved outcomes in infrastructure, investment, law & order and farmer policies. Areas such as social security and sports show more mixed or neutral public perceptions. These results reflect citizen-level perceptions and are useful for diagnosing priorities for service delivery and communication.

Press Release: Majority Perceive Bhajanlal Government as Better in Most Domains

Jaipur, 9 November 2025 — Public Research & Advisory Services (PRAS India) announces the findings of a large-scale comparative survey which shows that a substantial share of citizens rate the current BJP government of Rajasthan as performing better than the previous Congress-led administration across several governance areas.

Key Highlights

• Sample: 10,000 respondents from all 200 assembly constituencies (50 respondents per constituency).
• Top perceived improvements: Industry & investment (64% better), Farmer policies (63% better), Law & order (62% better).
• Public services showing mixed responses: Social security programs and sports development scored more neutrally.

Summary of Findings

Water supply improvements were reported by 58% of respondents while electricity services were seen to have improved by 52%. Education and health recorded modest positive perceptions, with 48% and 44% respondents respectively reporting better outcomes under the current government.

On Governance and Transparency

Nearly half of respondents (49%) perceived an improvement in transparency and reduced corruption. This signals growing public confidence in administrative accountability, though a substantial share still report neutral or negative views.

Chief Minister Performance

The chief minister’s two-year tenure registered a positive public rating, with 56% of citizens describing his performance as better compared to the previous administration.

Conclusion

PRAS India notes that these findings represent perceptions at the time of the survey. While perceptions are an important input to policy and political analysis, we advise stakeholders to pair these insights with service-delivery data and program-level indicators for a complete assessment.
